Fallout: New Vegas has a definite ending. Once you've completed the main quest, you will receive the end credits. From that point, you'll only be able to start a new game.
If you'd like to continue with the game, you should roll back to a save prior the notification before the Battle of Hoover Dam - which indicates you will not be able to return.
