“Damn, I didn’t expect to see a sequel to that!?”
You could have said this when seeing the trailer for a handful of movies so far this year but Orphan: First Kill? Now that was seriously unexpected.
The original was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra back in 2009 and he went on to direct films like The Shallows. However, some fans have always felt that there was potential to bring Isabelle Fuhrman back for an Orphan prequel.
Although Jaume isn’t back at the helm, that’s exactly what’s happened.
It has been over a decade but Isabelle returns to reprise the somewhat iconic role – amongst some genre fans – with William Brent Bell in the director’s chair.
When watching, it’s almost impossible not to contemplate Isabelle Fuhrman’s height. How tall is she?

Isabelle Fuhrman’s height explained
The Daily Biography reports that Isabelle Furhman’s height is 5′ 3′′ (1.60 m).
That will no doubt make you question why she looks considerably smaller than the others she’s in the movie with.
As you’ll know, the 25-year-old American actress is playing a woman with hypopituitarism, a rare hormonal disorder that stunted her physical growth and she is attempting to pass herself off as a child.
Some techniques were involved to help create the illusion and screenwriter Doggie Coggeshall has revealed that Isabelle’s co-stars were wearing exaggerated platforms to make her appear much smaller.
He asked the question “How do you make a 24-year-old look like a child?” and posted the following snap on Twitter:
‘Any scene was like a magic trick’
The First Kill director recently opened up about using a technique called forced perspective to make Esther look smaller and explained how it’s done to Entertainment Weekly:
“It’s where, if we have two people in frame, if we want one person to be smaller, we put them further back. Then we use a lens and such that [when] they’re moving together they look in proportion to one another.”
The same technique was used to make Gandalf look bigger than the Hobbits in The Lord of the Rings.
“Any scene was like a magic trick,” he added, “because, even if it was a simple scene of two people walking down an alleyway, that means that Julia had to be two or three steps ahead of her.”
